Story behind the product ~ The hartebeest is an African antelope. Hartebeest are found in herds on open plains and scrublands of sub-Saharan Africa. They have an elongated head, unusual bracket-shaped heavily ringed horns.
We strive to source our pieces with as much background knowledge as possible. All of the suppliers we work with collect animals that have died naturally either on farms or in the wild. Others preserve the way of life that their culture has thrived on by hunting and trapping, using all parts of the animal in the process. Bones and skulls from animals are a byproduct of the farming industry, as well as these cultural practices.
Skull comes fully mounted on perspex base. Horns have an oiled finish.
