Story behind the product~ These stunning sculptural pieces originate from the Maasai people of Kenya. This vessel would have been used to store milk, honey and beer as well as for initiation ceremonies. The gourds are made using calabashes which have lovely organic shapes. The calabashes are cut from their vines and dried for several weeks before being hollowed and washed. The village maker determines how the piece will look in the end, these pieces have been adorned with different coloured beads on leather straps.
Style as a decorative piece for any space. Each piece is a complete one off.
